The target audience for a Master of Arts (MA) in Leadership and Business Development is typically individuals seeking to enhance their leadership and business development skills, including current and aspiring managers, executives and entrepreneurs. This degree is suitable for those who wish to understand and apply the principles of effective leadership and business strategy in order to drive organisational success and personal growth. This program is targeted for students who have completed an MQF Level 6 qualification in a business related subject and wish to continue their education track and gain an MQF Level 7 qualification in Leadership and Business Development. The program is also targeted to students who have an MQF Level 6 qualification in a non-business related subject, but have proven work experience in a leadership or business development related capacity (for a minimum of 5 years) and are looking to improve their knowledge and skills in the hopes of becoming leaders within organisations.

In order to receive this qualification, the student must successfully complete the modules:

a. Strategic Leadership, MQF/EQF Level 7, 4 ECTS

b. Training and Development, MQF/EQF Level 7, 10 ECTS

c. Employee and Labour Relations, MQF/EQF Level 7, 4 ECTS 

d. International Organisational Management and Development, MQF/EQF Level 7, 10 ECTS

e. Principles of Entrepreneurship, MQF/EQF Level 7, 12 ECTS

f. Project Management, MQF/EQF Level 7, 12 ECTS

g. Professional Development, MQF/EQF Level 7, 12 ECTS

h. Research in Projects and Organisations, MQF/EQF Level 7, 20 ECTS

i. Public Speaking and Presentation Skills, MQF/EQF Level 7, 6 ECTS


Programme Outcomes

  • Students will gain advanced knowledge in the field of leadership and business development, including team building and decision-making, and applied skills in developing and implementing strategies that drive growth and navigate complex organisational issues.
  • This program aims to prepare students with the ability to develop a holistic and strategic approach to problem-solving and decision-making within an organisation.

  • Bachelor's degree or graduate degree in business, administration, commerce, finance, sciences, management, human resources, psychology or a related field
  • Minimum 180 ECTS at MQF Level 6 previously acquired at a Higher Education institution
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • A minimum of one year of work experience in a business environment will be considered as an asset
